My Morning

This morning I woke up to my little munchkin crying at about 6 a.m. --I gave him his bottle, sat with him a little while and was able to get him to fall back asleep around 7 o'clock. I figured I had about a half hour...maybe an hour if I was really lucky to lay back down and close my eyes. Well, almost 2 1/2 hours later I hear the baby wake up -- we got to sleep until 9:30!!!!

Over the monitor I could hear that Connor wasn't crying, he was talking and babbling to himself, or his toys. I didn't rush into his room since I knew he was content. But, after a minute or two it became silent. Too silent. So, I went into his bedroom to check on him -- and what do I see???

My little boy sitting in his crib smiling up at me, with a few wipes in each hand and a few more spread out along hte bottom of the crib. No wonder why he got so quiet -- he was up to no good!!

Our changing table is attached to his crib - so he must have stood up at that end and reached the wipes... so "Note to Self: DO NOT leave things on changing table anymore!"

Tired Boys

Sometimes nap time strikes you wherever you are....

...this time, Daddy was trying to get the baby to fall asleep and it looks like they both dozed off!

I entered a Giveaway Contest

One of the blogs I follow is of a fellow Nestie (www.thenest.com) on the baby boards - her blog The Foster Family is holding a giveaway to help support another Nestie's new business called Southern Sews

All I had to do was enter my favorite fabric pattern and hope I get selected as the winner!
By blogging about it, I will receive an extra entry.

However, I suggest you check out The Foster Family blog (you can click on the title above, I made it a link - its all about a single mom raising her two beautiful twin girls - who just happen to have the same birthday as my little boy!!

Connor's New Interest

video (sorry the video is sideways, I had my camera tilted to capture him vertically, but I can't rotate the video now...)

Sooooooo, he's walking!! Not full time yet - but it started off within the last week or so and he would occasionally take a step or two before falling down. Now, he will occasionally cross a room! Holy Moly - he's not even at the 9 month marker -- I am in BIG TROUBLE!!

Connor & Daddy

Yesterday was Jason's first "official" Father's Day. I didn't quite have time to sit down and write -- but I wanted to be sure to honor Connor's wonderful Daddy for Father's Day!

Jason is a wonderful father - he's comforting, caring, loving - and playful, silly, encouraging....
So many of the qualities you would hope to find in a father.

I love watching the two of them together - no matter what it is they're doing - they could be playing, eating or snuggling - it just melts my heart to see them.

In December, Jason will be a father of 2 (yes, 2!!) and I can't wait to see him with his 2 children!

Connor's Poppy

It's been a while since I've updated and while there are some fun things to report, I would prefer to post some unfortunate news. Connor's great grandfather (Poppy) didn't survive his fight in the hospital. I'd like to thank you all for your positive thoughts and well wishes, however, we had a rough last two weeks.

In honor of the special relationship Connor shared with his Poppy I'd like to post some pictures of the two of them. Unfortunately, we dont' have any very recent ones...but they're special enough.

Connor's just born, Poppy's holding him in the hospital!--->

Poppy loved his "Little Guy" as he always called Connor.
RIP Frank Agamine, Poppy, we will miss you.

A Special Note From Connor

Dear Poppy,

I know you aren't feeling well lately and have been in the hospital for almost a week now.
I miss you so so much! I was so happy when Mommy and Daddy brought me to visit you in the hospital over the weekend. I know I can't see you right now because you're in the ICU - but it's only temporary...you have to go there to get stronger before you can come home.
I love you very much and can't wait until you come home so you can see how big I've gotten in just one week!

You are my best buddy!
I love you and tell Mommy and Daddy to hug you for me!
Love, Connor (Your Little Guy)

**Please keep Connor's great-grandfather in your thoughts for a strong recovery!

Everything in the Mouth

Its common knowledge that babies put EVERYTHING in their mouths. And by everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Connor does not just put blocks, toys, teething rings in his mouth, which of course you can certainly find those things in his mouth -- I thought I'd share some of his favorite items to put in his mouth - or at least attempts to get in there because some of these things are not so good for chewing on....

So, here is a list of things that my little man wishes he could chew on -- and often tries VERY hard to succeed but fails for one reason or another:
  • The remotes
  • Cell phones
  • Car Keys
  • Daddy's Nose (yes...it has become a regular chew toy)
  • Cat toys
  • The Cat! (his tail, his ear... Connor tries to chew the cat regularly)
  • Mommy's toe/foot

8 Months Old!

Last night, as I was holding my little boy before bed I began thinking how we were on the eve of his 8 month birthday. It got me so emotional to think that he's no longer a newborn - in fact, he's only 4 months away from being a year old. I am having a hard time accepting that he's growing up! I know, its a part of life -- but, he is learning how to be a "big boy" (he crawls, pulls himself up, stands without holding on, feeding himself snacks...) and my little baby is not going to be a baby much longer! I couldn't control it -- I held him longer than usual and just cried a little bit while thinking of how teeny tiny he used to be!

Today's 8 month photo shoot!
These shoots are getting more and more difficult as Connor is getting more and more squirmy and less interested in sitting still for Mommy! (note: the sign now has to be taped to the couch because he will just crumple it up now!)
