Diaper Changing is NOT an Option
However, my dear sweet little boy seems to think it is.
Diaper changing, or now known as "nightmare time", is just that, a nightmare
Connor has decided he is against diaper changing and would prefer to fight me 100% the whole time. Connor flips himself over, tries to crawl away (is sometimes successful...diaperless...) and screams and cries the entire time I am changing him.
I spend so much energy rolling him back over, trying to brace his body with one hand and fasten the new diaper with super-speed that you'd think I was doing manual labor.
So please, someone explain to my son that Diaper changing is not an option.

Two Teeth!
When Connor lets me pull his lip down long enough to see them I'll snap a picture -
Usually I pull his lip down and only have a split second to peek in there before he sticks his tongue out!
But, hooray, two teeth! There are more just around the corner.
I'm not so sure I'm ready for my little man to have teeth yet.

Things That Make Me Cry
There are some things that make me cry and Mommy and Daddy don't seem to get it because they keep allowing this nonsense to continue. Now, I'm not talking about when I'm really tired, hungry or I'm teething. I know when these things happen Mommy and Daddy do whatever they can to make me feel better. What I'm talking about are the things that Mommy and Daddy have full control over... so, without further ado, the list of what makes me cry:
- Getting my face wiped after eating
- When I'm not allowed to have a cell phone or remote control
- When Mommy and Daddy stop playing the "stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down" game with me
- If no one is paying attention to me for longer than 15 seconds
- When I'm not allowed to have anything made of paper (magazines, mail, wrapping paper etc..)
- If I'm not ready to get out of your arms but you put me down anyway
- Sitting in my carseat when I don't want to
- Sitting when I want to stand
- Standing when I want to sit
- Laying down when I want to play
So, this is just a few of the things that make me cry -- if Mommy and Daddy would just get with the program we'd all be happy.

Tractors are Amazing
Once Daddy was done mowing the lawn he took the baby for a tractor ride -- well, here are some photos, and a video, from Connor's first tractor ride. (and, at the end of the tractor he WOULD NOT let go of the wheel - I actually had to pry him off of it!)

We're in for it
However, Connor didn't seem to think that finally learning to move forward was enough... he now insists on trying to pull himself up on everything. Yes, EVERYTHING - this includes the crib, the couch, shoes, Mommy, Daddy, the box of wipes -- anything that will allow him to get into a standing position, or something close.
Oh boy...I'm in for it - he's only 6.5 months!!

Dear Son,
Dear Son,
I understand that you enjoy your new ability to sit up. I am proud of you for that. And, I realize you want to learn even more, so you try to scoot around and pull yourself up. Again, I am proud and impressed.
However, Please don't do it in your crib anymore. You are only 6 mos old and we already lowered your crib way down last night. Since then you have decided to try and stand up in your crib and are very determined to do so. Every time I put you down for your nap I end up seeing your little arms and fists sticking out through the crib rails trying to get a good grip. You don't always know I'm watching, but I am. I see what you're doing in there.
Your crib is not a jungle gym. It is a place for napping, night time sleeping, and occasional "relaxing". Please continue using the crib for its intended purpose.

The waitress that loved my baby
We had Connor in the high chair (he's new at it, but we're trying it out) and the waitress kept saying "Oh he's so cute" (of course!!) and other pleasantries...
So, we're getting ready to leave and I pick the baby up out of the high chair and my start to gather other items before walking out. Suddenly, I feel a slight tap on my shoulder and turn around to see the waitress right behind me.
Well, she says "I just have to ask you if I can squeeze him before you leave. He is just too cute and I've been waiting to squeeze him."
I sort of just blankly stared at her for a moment, thinking she was going to squeeze his cheeks, his leg, maybe his stomach... so I start to turn him a little so that he is now facing her.
Well...she didn't squeeze his cheeks -- she TOOK HIM from me and actually held him in her arms and squeezed him. I stood there and stared at her, then over to Mr. E and then back to her before I let out a very awkard laugh... and took the baby back before she ran off with him.
Ok, ok I'm sure she wasn't going to run off with him from her place of business, but it was still weird.
True Story.
