Bananas for Bananas!

The other day I was snacking on a banana while driving home from work - and mid-banana I noticed some serious movement from the baby! I giggled and thought "Gee, Baby E must love fruit like his/her mommy!"
Fast forward to today at lunch. I was eating a banana - not even thinking of the other days banana events - and suddenly there was a party in my abdomen!
I felt myself get so excited and immediately shared the news with my co-workers. The news of course being that Baby E is BANANAS FOR BANANAS! I can't wait to eat more bananas!

And now, another subject:
For your viewing pleasure.... Me at 19 Weeks!!

Flutters? I don't think so.

They say that when you first feel the baby moving inside you it feels like cute little flutters - as if a butterfly were happily flying around your tummy.
Well, Baby E must have missed that memo. He (she?) skipped the flutter stage and waited for the internal tapping/poking stage.
Granted, its WONDERFUL to feel some movement - to know that Baby E is still growing strong - but seriously, do I have to feel like someone is setting off little electric zaps on my organs? I wanted the cute flutters, the soft taps before the organ kicking began. Of course, I am not getting kicked in the ribs or anything yet, but man oh man I can't imagine how that'll feel if I'm already being electrocuted internally.

Got Cellulite?

'Cuz I certainly do!

Pre-pregnancy I definately had a little more cellulite to spare than I'd care to admit. However, if you think that you just gain a belly during pregnancy YOU ARE MISTAKEN!

I have noticed extra chunkage on my arms, thighs and oh yea, the ass. So in the midst of all the other changes going on with my body I get to enjoy the extra wiggles and jiggles as a gift from nature. if only cellulite was beautiful again....

My Little Onion

Maybe its not quite as endearing of a nickname for Baby E as it could be - but according to my trusty source Baby E is now the size of an ONION!

Sure, it was cuter when it was "My little Raspberry" or "My little Plum" - but there's something to be said for Onions isn't there? I mean, they add spice and pizazz to many meals don't they? Sure they do! And my baby is FULL of spice and pizazz!

In fact, this is what My Sweet Little Onion is up to right now...

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

Keep on growing baby!! Next week you'll be My Darling Little Sweet Potato!

The Art of Naming...

Granted, I still have 4 1/2 -5 months before this baby REALLY needs a name - but it would be nice if Mr. E and I could settle on a name beforehand. It does not have to be RIGHT NOW that we need to settle but perhaps before the doctors hand me my baby and ask me what is his/her name. I would prefer NOT to say "OH MY GOD I STILL DONT KNOW!!!" So if not right now, then why, you may ask, am I bothering to discuss this now??

How do I possibly settle on a nice, suitable name for someone else? I mean, I am responsible for trying to name another human being. This isn't a pet where someone can giggle and say "oh thats cute" this is a human boy or girl who's name will travel with them through daycare, preschool-12th grade, college (FINGERS CROSSED!) and the professional world.
Do I really want my child to come back to us and say
"Gee, Mom and Dad you really screwed me when you picked out my name. Thanks a lot a$$holes".
No of course not. So, I have created a secret list of criteria for selecting a name. However, Mr. E told me that he knows what goes through my mind as we choose a name (so I guess it isn't such a secret after all) and if I keep scrutinizing every name so harshly we will NEVER choose one.

Tell me -- whats wrong with this criteria:
Baby E's name should:
  • Not be too ordinary. (*disclaimer: I like ordinary names, but I grew up w/out one and therefore have opted to give my child something less ordinary as well)
  • Not be too unique. I do not want people thinking I totally lost my mind during the naming process. (*another disclaimer: Really, you can name your kid whatever you want. If your dream name happens to be chickachicka boom boom then so be it, but its just not my naming preference)
  • First name may NOT rhyme with our last name
  • The initals (first, middle and last) can NOT spell something that would generate teasing.
  • Be a name that people will take seriously in the professional world.

So really, is that too much? I guess in the grand scheme of things- just pick something I can imagine myself yelling when our kid gets in trouble! (However, I already know my child will be a perfect angel and never get into trouble... yeah right)

(from my mom, for baby to wear home from the hospital)

Ok, so I feel like all I ever do is talk about food or complain. Today - I will do neither.
I just wanted to share a few of the gifts we've already gotten for the baby! It's SO much more realistic that Baby E is coming! So, if your gift is displayed, THANK YOU!! Especially since we will be trying to raise a Mets fan from birth!!

(Mets gear! Thanks Aunt D & Cousin A who got these)

Me Bebe la Gusta Mucho

...Mexican food.

Oh yeah...last Friday at work we ordered out - I got Chicken Nachos Grande.
Today at work we ordered out -- I got Chicken Tacos.
Right now I would love a heaping pile of Nachos w/all the junk on them (hold the jalapenos & olives please!)

So, I guess I'll be living off of Cheese, Guacamole, Sour Cream, and Salsa surrounded by a tortilla in some form- be it a nacho chip, a taco shell, or whatever- I JUST WANT MEXICAN FOOD!!

Oh, and OF COURSE a slushie to wash it all down.
